Hey, Filipe Rigolon here, the guy behind Fineliner. I am Brazilian 🇧🇷, and I have called the UK home since 2018. Somewhere in early 2026, trading stopped being a hobby and became a bit of an obsession...

Features

Home
Everything you need, all in one place. Filter by date, switch currencies, turn on Privacy Mode and make the Home view your own.
Performance
Set your goals, see how you’re doing each month and keep an eye on the bigger picture.

Portfolio
Track your cash balance alongside your investments for a complete view of your portfolio. See open positions, unrealised P&L and allocations, set portfolio targets and more.
Trades
Your space to dig into every trade. Review your entries, exits, percentage return and realised P&L, reflect on what went well and what didn’t, then export it all as a polished PDF to share.

Calendar
A trading journal wouldn’t be complete without a proper calendar. See your realised P&L day by day and spot patterns in your performance over time.
Instrument
See how you are doing with each instrument, and find out which stocks you might be a little too obsessed with.

Transactions
Keep your trading activity up to date in one place. Add transactions, manually fetch new trades from your broker and manage everything as it comes in.
Reports
Turn your trading activity into a polished PDF report. Choose what to include, filter by period, add notes and an account holder, then customise the currency and language. Fineliner can even prepare an email with the report attached, ready for you to review and send.

Trading Plan
A more enjoyable way to set the rules you trade by. Build your plan with flexible cards, link them to built-in strategies or create your own, and arrange everything your way. You can make as many trading plans as you like, and export them as polished PDFs whenever you want to share one.
Strategies
Fineliner comes with a few popular strategies to get you started, but you are in charge. Create as many of your own as you like, then add them to your trading plans.

Journal
One of Fineliner’s most important features: a private space to reflect on your trading. Write notes, connect entries to specific trades, record voice notes, add screenshots and keep the full story behind every decision.
Calculators
There are plenty of calculators out there. Fineliner simply brings the handiest ones together, so they are always within reach.

Market Hours
See which markets are open, when the next session begins and where each market is in its trading day. You can also check upcoming closures for local public holidays, all in one handy view.
Patterns
Need a quick reminder while you are trading? Browse candlestick and chart patterns, revisit what they mean and see what they might suggest about price action.

Shelf
Fineliner is named for a reason. Customise your own notebooks and pens, choose from different styles and create as many as you like. Each notebook can hold its own transactions and trades, helping you keep everything organised your way.

Mac
Native Mac app
Fineliner is coming to the Mac App Store, so you can enjoy the same familiar experience as on iPhone, with more space to journal, review your trades and explore your performance.

✱
Details
One more thing...
A few things I ended up building into the Fineliner app simply because I am slightly obsessed with the details.
Most people might never notice them, but well... here we are.
✱
Privacy
Your Data
Your private trading data is stored on your device and, when enabled, in your private iCloud account.
Fineliner doesn’t store it on its own servers, and the developer has no access to it.
Fineliner Account
During onboarding, you can create a Fineliner account using your name and email address.
These details are securely stored with Supabase and used only to provide and manage your account.

Pricing
Transparent pricing
Fineliner keeps pricing simple.
The journal feature itself is free for all to use, and an in-app subscription unlocks the main features of the app.
That subscription method helps pay the backend expenses, keeps the app running, and gives me more time to obsess over the details.
